Tennessee Preseason Preview

Tennessee's offense and QB Vince Young had been in a preseason coma before putting up some big numbers against Buffalo. I think Young had 5 completions and 4 sacks combined in his first 2 preseason games. They have big question marks at running back where RB LenDale White hasn't taken control of the starting job, rookie 2nd round pick RB Chris Henry hasn't shown he deserves to start, and they are seriously considering giving RB Chris Brown another chance. Plus Tennessee's secondary was torched for two long bombs, one by the very talented (and former Wisconsin Badger) WR Lee Evans, but the other one by the awful WR Peerless Price. Plus Tennessee just lost reserve DT Rien Long so they felt it was necessary to give DT Corey Simon another chance after he flamed out in Indianapolis.

While Tennessee is still working out who their starters are, the Packers arguably have the entire starting lineup set and are just letting guys battle it out for reserve spots. Mike McCarthy said yesterday that rookie FB Korey Hall had won the starting fullback job. S Atari Bigby has already locked up the starting safety job unless he falls apart on Thursday night. OL Junius Coston might need to prove that he can start if RG Jason Spitz and/or OL Tony Moll are both still hurt by the opening game. The starters will only make a brief cameo before all the reserves are given a chance to show that they deserve a roster spot.
