The only way this relates to the Packers is that QB Byron Leftwich's poor performance at Lambeau in the 2nd preseason game probably was the nail in his Jaguar career coffin, but his release was a big surprise. Usually final cuts are only a battle over one roster spot and hopefully the release doesn't come back to haunt the team. Usually it doesn't and I don't expect any of the Packers 20 final cuts will haunt them later. But Leftwich's release isn't so big just because he's a QB and a former 1st round pick, but because the future of the entire Jacksonville team will likely be decided by this one roster move. River City Rage over at Big Cat Country can explain.
