No Better Defender Than Atari Bigby

New, comments

I love watching S Atari Bigby play. He's always running downhill at top speed, and looks like he's going to tackle the ball carrier through a brick wall. He's terrific around the line of scrimmage when in run support, and he's great when defensive coordinator Bob Sanders gives him an opportunity to blitz. But he's terrible in pass coverage and he can't possibly be the best defensive player in the NFC. He had four interceptions in December, but one from the awful QB Josh McCown and two were gift wrapped deflected passes in St. Louis, while the final one was a great play by Bigby on a pass to WR Charles Johnson in week 17. Four interceptions look great on the stat sheet, but there had to be someone better in the entire NFC on defense in December.
