Looking Into The Backfield

Lori Nickel writes about the running backs battling for reps in the ongoing practices. RB Ryan Grant has obviously got the starting job, and FB Korey Hall and RB Brandon Jackson are almost certain locks for the roster, but everyone else is going to have to work to keep their roster spot.

This time last year it looked like RB Vernand Morency would start along with FB Ryan Powdrell (who?), and Grant was some guy on the NY Giants practice squad that 99% of Packer fans had never heard of. By the start of last season, Powdrell was out for the season and Morency was still injured, while Grant was the 4th string running back. Basically a lot can change between now and the start of the season, and it's only a guess who will make the team as the backup running backs.
