The Houston Chronicle reported that DT Johnny Jolly was arrested last week for possession of codeine.
Jolly was a pleasant surprise last season. He did little in his 2006 rookie season after being selected in the 6th round, but he became the starting defensive tackle by the start of the last season. He was solid against the run, and had knack for knocking down pass attempts. His season ended early with a shoulder injury, and he's sat out most offseason work while he recovers from it.
I was hopeful he would bounce back in 2008, but if he truly was looking for a codeine high, I doubt he's giving 100% to his rehab. He flunked his physical at the start of training camp last season, and still managed to play himself into the starting lineup during the preseason, but I'm doubtful he can do it again this season.
It looks like we can pencil in DT Justin Harrell as the starting tackle alongside veteran DT Ryan Pickett.
