This was a story from back on April 17th, but I had been waiting for the official announcement from the Packers, but apparently it isn't coming anytime soon.
This was not the year to be a restricted free agent because not a single one changed teams this season. Tennessee tried to acquire S Jarrett Bush, but the Packers matched that offer.
If Bigby had been able to sign with another team after the 2007 season, then he would have gotten a better contract then the $1.5 million one he signed for 2009, but 2008 was an injury plagued season for him. FB John Kuhn met with Cincinnati and Arizona (I think) but couldn't get a contract offer from either of them. I'm a WR Ruvell Martin fan, but he didn't do much in 2008, and I expect he'll have to fight to keep his roster spot in 2009, so it's no surprise another team didn't try and sign him.
Speaking of wide receivers, which team will trade for Arizona WR Anquan Boldin? Revenge of the Birds heard a rumor of Boldin for a 1st round pick and Baltimore TE Todd Heap. I wouldn't want Heap at this point in his career, so I doubt that trade will happen. But I'm expecting some team will grab Boldin before the draft. I think Arizona wants a 1st and 2nd round pick for Boldin. Two 1st round picks seems too high. Would Minnesota offer that for him? Gonzo thinks the price is too high, and the reward too little considering Minnesota's current QB situation, and expects Philadelphia will make a superior offer than Minnesota.
