Last October, there was talk that Kansas City might trade TE Tony Gonzalez to the Packers, but nothing came of it. One of the stumbling blocks was that KC wanted a 2nd round pick for him; maybe GM Ted Thompson was willing to offer a 3rd round pick. They held out for a 2nd and finally Atlanta was willing to part with one for him. I didn't read any rumors this offseason and assumed KC was going to keep him.
I think that was too high a price for the twilight of his career, but the pick does lose some of its value since KC won't receive it until 2010.
