On ESPN Radio: James Jones Asked About His Thumb Injury

WR James Jones got behind the defense late in the first half, and dropped a perfectly thrown deep pass down the sidelines that could have gone for a touchdown. Mike McCarthy admitted in a press conference that Jones has been playing with a thumb injury. Jones spoke to ESPN radio about his injury, playing against the Eagles and the Falcons, and RB James Starks. Sports Radio Interviews has a transcript and a link to the audio.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is how long has he played with an injured thumb? Is it something that's been bothering him all season? It certainly explains a lot.

And there's the ring of truth to it. Jones showed excellent hands in previous seasons. He previously had struggled with leg injuries or miscommunication on route assignments/reads, but not dropped passes. At least that's what I recall.
