Sunday Morning Bloody Mary: Packers Hurt Feelings

Ryan wrote earlier about the major on-field injury to follow this week. LB Erik Walden hurt his ankle during the NFC Championship game, and he blamed the bad turf at Soldier Field for it. While LB Frank Zombo has returned to practice, he hasn't played since their game against the Lions in early December. It sounds like they've opted to give Walden additional treatment this week, instead of an opportunity to aggravate his injury during practice, and I'd be very surprised if he's unable to start in the Super Bowl.

But the major off-field, hurt feelings injury of the week, is the team photo twitter battle. It seemed dead a couple days ago, but fresh comments on Saturday by QB Aaron Rodgers set it off again. Based on his comments, and that Mike McCarthy just wants to get ready for the Super Bowl, it seems like all the active players and coaches are annoyed with the topic.

I'm annoyed by it, and I've avoided writing about it because I'm annoyed, and I just want it to go away. I feel like TE Jermichael Finley and LB Nick Barnett are part of the team, and having them present for a team photo doesn't change it one way or another. It's an example of the crazy Super Bowl week media where the slightest distraction turns into a national story.
