On Quarless, Long Plays Allowed, Quarterbacks, and the 1983-84 Season

WAUK-AM - 10/24/11 The defense rests, for now. The defense is giving up a lot of long plays. That's not really something I've come to expect from Dom Capers's defenses. There is no obvious solution, but that might be the biggest area in which they miss S Nick Collins as their last line of defense.

I've read generally positive reviews of Christian Ponder, and I didn't think he was very good. A lot of incompletions, and he threw multiple interceptions. I'm not writing him off, there's a promising player behind all that inexperience, but he's still got a ways to go.

PACKERVILLE, U.S.A.: Some More Retro-Packers. Ahh. A look back at what I thought, at the time, was the best offense ever back. They were impressive, but I must have blocked out the 31 INTs they threw in 1983 (29 by Lynn Dickey).
