On the field, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have a huge advantage with so many weapons in the passing game. But it's making it a nightmare for fantasy football owners. Sure, Rodgers is going to get you a ton of points each week, but who's he going to throw the ball to?
According to Football Outsiders, the Buccaneers pass defense is even worse than the Vikings. But like the Vikings, they aren't good at taking anything away. Once again, it's possible Rodgers gets all of his receivers involved. Jennings and Nelson only had 5 targets a piece, but at least both players had at least one touchdown reception. James Jones only had 1 target as Driver and Cobb each had more targets (4 and 3) than usual. And one touchdown reception went to FB John Kuhn. FInley, Jennings and Nelson were the top three most targeted receivers again last week, but it's a guessing game whether any of the other receivers are worth a start.
And unfortunately for James Starks's owners, the Packers didn't take the foot off the pedal, even when they had a big lead. Backup Matt Flynn did take over late in the fourth quarter, but he wasn't just handing the ball off. He attempted two passes, and scrambled for a touchdown. Even when the Packers have a big lead, Starks's fantasy owners can't expect many late game rushes to pad his stats.
Are there any backup players on the Packers you'd be willing to take a chance with this week?
