LB Frank Zombo says "It's a one-week deal" but the constant stream of injuries are starting to weigh on him. He didn't have a big impact against the Chargers, but in his first game back, the Packers certainly gave him some playing time. If he can finally get healthy, can he move ahead of LB Erik Walden this season?
Erik Walden's On-Field Theatrics: Exit Stage Left? | AllGreenBayPackers.ComErik Walden's On-Field Theatrics: Exit Stage Left? | AllGreenBayPackers.Com. It hasn't been a great season for Walden in part because he's provided little pass rush. He hasn't been great in coverage or against the run either. But he probably had his best game of the season against the Chargers with a sack, two tackles for a loss, one pass defense, and one quarterback hit. I don't think it's a sign he's getting better, but he's a hustle player who can disrupt in the backfield from time-to-time.
The only other options are undrafted rookie LB Vic So'oto and former starter LB Brad Jones. While both players have shown potential in the past, I have to trust the coaches on this one. If they thought either of them could provide help at outside linebacker, they would have given them a chance.
