The Kansas City Star reported that Kansas Governor Sam Brownback honored Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson. The event took place in Topeka as Nelson was called a "fabulous Kansan" and they celebrated the former Kansas State star's achievements. He began his college career as a walk-on with the team. I wish I had some pictures from the event to post.
2011 might be a big year for him. Pro Football Focus tallied 29 pass attempts thrown to Nelson during the playoffs which was twice as many as were thrown to WR James Jones. I had expected Nelson to move ahead of Jones all season long, but maybe it just took him an entire 20 game schedule to finally make it over the top.
