Union Indicates It Will Decertify Next Week

But what does that mean? According to the NFL Network's Albert Breer, once the union does decertify it "would then seek an injunction to block a potential lockout" which would be lawsuit No. 1. Then "the NFL is expected to contest decertification" which is lawsuit No. 2. Gregg Rosenthal says this "would further push the NFL-NFLPA standoff from the negotiating table and into the courtrooms" which he said would lead to "a protracted battle."

This is what I'd expected, but I'm still disappointed it's come to this. The Federal mediator, George H. Cohen, said that during the past week of mediation "Some progress was made, but very strong difference remain on the all-important core issues."
