It's nice to be invited to conference calls like the one for the upcoming celebrity golf tournament, which scheduled a Q&A with Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, but when media like the Press-Gazette does such a great job reporting on it, I don't have to actually listen in on it.
He said, again, that organizing workouts wasn't important because they got together as a team for one of the few league sanctioned lockout exceptions: the Super Bowl ring ceremony. And they don't need to work out together because Mike McCarthy "has always been a big supporter of the work we do individually."
I thought the best news was the he expects the lockout to end soon. From the Press-Gazette:
"I think everybody has a sense that it’s going to end soon," Rodgers said. "It’s just a matter of how soon is soon."
He was very pessimistic at the end of the season, so his statement that the end is near is a good confirmation. Also, negotiations are getting closer if Jerry Jones is avoiding the media.
