Packers Lose Preseason Opener To Browns, 27-17

After two incompletions on their opening drive, Aaron Rodgers led the Green Bay Packers for a touchdown on their second drive. He threw a 21 yard touchdown to Greg Jennings on a beautiful pass at the front pylon. He finished with a 142.7 QB rating for the game.

The first team defense allowed one touchdown drive, led by Browns QB Colt McCoy. He scored another one with the Browns first team offense, but that was against the second team defense. For what it's worth, the Packers allowed a long scoring drive last preseason to former Browns QB Jake Delhomme.

It wasn't surprising to see a lot of sloppy play, especially from their reserve offensive lineman. While backup QB Matt Flynn threw for a touchdown (on a deflected pass that bounced right to TE Spencer Havner) and had a QB rating of 100.7, he was often running for his life. The blocking was just as bad for 3rd string QB Graham Harrell, who fumbled the ball three times and had a botched snap on a 4th down play at the goal line.

With the exception of former practice squad CB Josh Gordy, who had a sack and a INT, there were few eye opening plays. We'll have a better idea on many of these players after a couple more preseason games.
