Packer Roster Cuts: Antonio Robinson

Today is the day for the Green Bay Packers to trim three players from their roster. I took my best guess yesterday at predicting the three players to be released.

One of the players I had thought of was WR Antonio Robinson, who'd been seldom used during the preseason, but I excluded him because they just released WR Brett Swain on Sunday, and I thought they wouldn't release any more wide receivers before their last preseason game.

Well I guessed wrong. From Packers.com:

The Green Bay Packers released first-year WR Antonio Robinson. The transaction was announced Tuesday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

For those that blinked and missed him this preseason, he played a little against the Cardinals in the second half. He made one difficult reception over the middle, and then missed on a quick slant from QB Graham Harrell. It wasn't clear whether that was his or Harrell's fault, but with a couple other receivers on the bubble playing better than him (WR Tori Gurley, WR Chastin West) there was obviously no place for him on the roster.
