Despite winning their season opener, the victory left a lot to be desired for Green Bay Packers LB Clay Matthews. From Sports Radio Interviews:
I think there’s always room for improvement. I know I walked off the field personally feeling as if it was a loss so to speak. Obviously you play this game to win, whether it’s by one or one hundred, but at the same time got way too many points, big plays, yards, and completions. Just kinda had their way with us.
It reminds me of their home win last season over the Lions. They won by a score of 28 to 26, but the Lions had the ball on offense for much of the game. They were thinking about the Super Bowl and instead they were struggling to stop one of the worst teams of 2009. In hindsight, it turns out that the Lions were better than they expected.
