Brandon Saine, who was carted from the sideline to the locker room during Sunday night's game against the Houston Texans. has been placed on injured reserve. The Green Bay Packers running back appeared to have a potential opportunity for some snaps with Cedric Benson out, but that opportunity was taken from him by some serious misfortune. Saine has a knee injury that is still unspecified, but believed to be a torn ACL.
To replace Saine, the Packers have claimed running back Johnny White off waivers from the Buffalo Bills. White was a 5th round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft and has 20 carries for 72 yards in his short NFL career. Per the Packers website, White has been given No. 34.
This is probably not the last roster move of the week for the Packers. Linebacker D.J. Smith also suffered a serious knee injury during the Texans game and could also have a torn ACL.
