Some last minute news before we kick off day….specifically the players you won’t see on the field today.
The following players are inactive: WR Jarrett Boykin, S Sean Richardson, CB Davon House, RB James Starks, LB Terrell Manning, DE Mike Daniels, WR Greg Jennings.
It’s a bit surprising to see another week of James Starks being a healthy scratch. Time is the most effective healer for a turf toe injury, but isn’t it about time to see if he can contribute for the Packers? Or is Starks just a nice insurance policy if Cedric Benson gets injured and Alex Green isn’t quite ready to go yet?
On the disappointing end I have to admit to being a little let down that Mike Daniels and Davon House are inactive this week. House probably could use another week to heal his shoulder, that and Sam Shields and Casey Hayward have been doing a respectable job of holding down the #2 and #3/4 corner spots on the defense so far. That said it would be nice to see him back in action. As for Daniels, well that is mostly due to the return of Mike Neal. Neal will have his chance to shine today with Daniels being inactive.
The rest of the inactives aren’t that surprising. Jennings is shut down for the foreseeable future until his groin heals. Boykin is probably not quite ready for primetime and neither is Terrell Manning.
