Cheese Substitute: College Football Games To Watch For Saturday, November 3

We're glossing over the obvious and recommending alternatives to this week's biggest games.

Stephen Dunn

Happy college football day, everyone. This week's slate is a solid one, though almost all of the good games are on at the exact same time. Technically, Alabama going to Death Valley is the biggest game of the day, but is anyone who isn't a fan of one of those two schools remotely interested? What about watching LSU play Alabama is fun?

I'd rather watch a shootout in Texas, a derpfest in East Lansing, and Johnny Football running wild in Starkville. Isn't entertainment the ultimate point of football? Lists of prospects below come from Chris Steuber, with an asterisk indicating an underclassman.

At 11 am ET, the best game is easily the one between Texas A&M and Mississippi State. While the Bulldogs got killed in Tuscaloosa last week, they're still a good team. Johnny Football is awesome. This game will be fun, and you can watch it on FX.

Texas A&M NFL prospects

T *Luke Joeckel, OG Patrick Lewis, OT *Jake Matthews, RB Christine Michael, DE/OLB *Damontre Moore, DL Spencer Nealy, WR Uzoma Nwachuku, OLB Sean Porter, WR Ryan Swope, FS Steven Terrell.

Mississippi State NFL prospects

DE *Denico Autry, CB Johnthan Banks, DT Josh Boyd, CB Corey Broomfield, WR Chad Bumphis, C *Dillon Day, OG *Gabe Jackson, OLB Cameron Lawrence, RB *LaDarius Perkins, QB *Tyler Russell, OLB *Deontae Skinner, CB Darius Slay, FS *Nickoe Whitley.

I've featured the Big 12 games a lot this year, so let's pretend the B1G matters for one week. I'll be watching Nebraska go to Michigan State at 2:30, in a game that you can see on ABC or ESPN2, depending on where you life.

Nebraska NFL prospects

WR *Kenny Bell, RB Rex Burkhead, ILB Will Compton, TE Ben Cotton, CB *Ciante Evans, OLB Sean Fisher, CB *Andrew Green, OG Seung Hoon Choi, DB *Stanley Jean-Baptiste, OG *Spencer Long, K Brett Maher, DE Eric Martin, QB/WR *Taylor Martinez, DE Cameron Meredith, TE Kyler Reed, OT *Andrew Rodriguez, OT *Jeremiah Sirles, FS P.J> Smith, SS Daimion Stafford, DT Baker Steinkuhler, OG Brandon Thompson.

Michigan State NFL prospects

CB Johnny Adams, OLB *Denicos Allen, RB *Le'Veon Bell, LB *Max Bullough, RB Larry Caper, CB *Darqueze Dennard, OT Fou Fonoti, DE *William Gholston, DT Tyler Hoover, FS *Isaiah Lewis, OG Chris McDonald, OLB Chris Norman, DE *Marcus Rush, TE *Dion Sims, DT Anthony Rashad White, CB Mitchell White.

In primetime, instead of watching Alabama beat LSU 10-3 in a game that only Bama alumni enjoy, why not watch USC and Oregon? Sure, SC were crazy overrated to come into the year, but this is still going to be infinitely more entertaining. It's on at 6 pm on FOX.

Oregon NFL prospects

ILB Kiko Alonso, RB Kenjon Barner, FS John Boyett, OLB Michael Clay, OT Nick Cody, DL *Taylor Hart, OLB/DE Dion Jordan, P Jackson Rice, WR Rahsaan Vaughn, OG Carson York.

USC NFL prospects

QB Matt Barkley, CB Brian Baucham, OT *Kevin Graf, CB *Torin Harris, C Khaled Holmes, DE Wes Horton, OG *John Martinez, FS T.J. McDonald, RB Curtis McNeal, RB *Silas Redd, CB *Nickell Robey, FB *Hunter Simmons, SS Jawanza Starling, CB Isiah Wiley, WR *Robert Woods, SS *Demetrius Wright.

At 10:30, instead of watching UCLA embarrass themselves and possibly pull out a lucky win anyway, why not watch the best two teams in the MWC, then tell us all in March about the great Boise and SDSU prospects that you know about? Watch them at 9:30 on CBS Sports Network.

Boise State NFL prospects

WR *Geraldo Boldewijn, WR Mitch Burroughs, CB Jerrell Gavins, RB D.J. Harper, OG Joe Kellogg, OG *Charles Leno, Jr., TE *Gabe Linehan, OLB J.C. Perry, QB *Joe Southwick, CB Jamar Taylor, DT *Ricky Tjong-A-Tjoe.

San Diego State NFL prospects

FS *Nat Berhe, TE *Gavin Escobar, QB Ryan Katz, RB Walter Kazee, WR *Colin Lockett, CB Leon McFadden, RB *Adam Muema.
