Packers vs. Vikings: Final Injury Report

The Packers look healthier than they have been in a long time for the final injury report of the regular season. The main question now is if Randall Cobb is ready to play on Sunday.

It’s taken most of the year but the Packers finally look pretty healthy. This week’s injury report has got lots of hope to it, minus the fact that Charles Woodson and James Starks are considered out again. Let’s take a look at the chart for Friday’s practice….

Name Position Injury Fri Practice Game Status
Randall Cobb WR Ankle / Knee LP Questionable
Tom Crabtree TE Hamstring FP Probable
Mason Crosby K Illness FP Probable
Evan Dietrich-Smith C Knee FP Probable
Alex Green RB Concussion FP Probable
Davon House CB Shoulder / Hip DNP Doubtful
Jordy Nelson WR Hamstring FP Probable
Jeff Saturday C Neck / Shoulder FP Probable
Josh Sitton RG Concussion FP Probable
James Starks RB Knee DNP Out
C.J. Wilson DE Knee FP Probable
Charles Woodson DB Collarbone Out Out
Jerel Worthy DE Hamstring FP Probable

Other than the questionable status of Randall Cobb, most of the news on injuries is very good. Right now it looks like the Packers will be getting back Crabtree, Green, Nelson, and Wilson. Of these it’s most encouraging to see the return of C.J. Wilson. Wilson is an excellent run stopper and the Packers will need as good a defensive line rotation as can be expected considering the strengths of the Vikings’ offense.

The injury to Cobb is a black cloud though. The good news is that after missing practice Thursday, he returned to practice on Friday, albeit on a limited basis. Right now Cobb’s status is up in the air, but it’s not unreasonable to think that he may be ready to go on Sunday against the Vikings. Similarly the injury to House is worrisome, however considering the depth at CB right now and the current state of the Vikings' passing attack the Packers should be able to weather this injury.

Meanwhile on the Vikings side most of their players are looking ready to go as well.

Name Position Injury Friday Practice Game Status
Jared Allen DE Shoulder / Illness FP Probable
Chris Kluwe P Left Knee FP Probable
Phil Loadholt T Knee FP Probable
Marvin Mitchell LB Illness DNP Probable
Adrian Peterson RB Abdomen LP Probable
Brian Robison DE Shoulder LP Questionable
Marcus Sherels CB Quadriceps FP Probable
Antoine Winfield CB Knee / Hand DNP Questionable

All players appearing on their injury list are listed as probable with the exception of Brian Robison and Antoine Winfield who are both listed as questionable. While Winfield has missed all of the practices this week it would still be surprising to see him miss this game. He has said that he is even willing to go out there with a cast on his hand and play if he has to.

Robison has been limited in practice all week with a shoulder injury. If Robison should miss time the Vikings have a capable backup in Everson Griffen to step in and still cause trouble for the Packers.
