2012 NFL Draft Watch: Washington RB Chris Polk

RB Polk measures in lighter, faster at UW Pro Day - CBSSports.com. The Green Bay Packers attended the workouts for the University of Washington's Pro Day. The big name at the workout was RB Chris Polk.

If you expect Ryan Grant to leave in free agency, then Polk is someone to keep an eye on. While Trent Richardson will be the first running back selected, CBS Sports.com lists 14 running backs who they expect to go in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th rounds. And one of those backs is Polk.

He's a little shorter than Grant, but he's got similar size. He measured in last week at 212 lbs. but he has been listed as high as 222 lbs. He can run (5.1 and 5.4 ypc in each of the past two seasons), and he also caught 31 passes in 2011. The Packers aren't going to draft a running back who can't catch the ball.

Rob Rang thinks his ability as a receiver may elevate his status, and he could become the second back selected. The Packers did select Brandon Jackson at the end of the second round in 2007, so doing the same this year with Polk wouldn't be a stretch.
