Chris Myers not a Packer, yet | ProFootballTalk. The way this headline read, it looked like the Green Bay Packers were in the lead to sign free agent C Chris Myers from the Texans. I'd be happier to read that Scott Wells is returning, but Myers is a very good player who's probably even better than Wells.

However, the only news at this story is from an old report that the Packers talked to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, at the NFL combine in February. Rosenhaus probably talked to everyone in Indianapolis that week. At the time, if anything, it seemed like an attempt by the Packers to find out how much Wells might get in free agency.

Unless Myers's asking price comes way down, and there's no reason it should, I don't expect the Packers will be in the market for him. It's been reported that he's talked with the Texans and Titans, but not the Packers.

On a related note, the Titans could end up being the new home for Wells. He's a Tennessee alum who still lives in the Nashville area, so he'd probably love playing closer to home. And it appears the Titans are interested in him too.
