2012 NFL Mock Draft: At SB Nation, Green Bay Packers Select...

Over at the SB Nation mothership, they're doing a great team-by-team mock draft in which all of the team bloggers make selections for their team. I am one of those team bloggers, as you know, but this was being conducted when I had just taken the job, and I wasn't quite settled as the guy behind the wheel here. So, the words on the Green Bay Packers' pick are not my words, but rather the words of Dan over at Mocking The Draft.

Dan had the Packers fill their need at 3-4 defensive end with the player that he judged to be the best player available, Penn State DT/DE Devon Still.

The Packers are one of those teams that can truly go best player available. With that in mind, it was fair and away Still, who also happens to be a good fit for their 3-4 front. There was no defensive tackle in the nation that played better than Still in 2011. He's a powerful player, but has the arm length and enough athleticism to line up at end.

For those who are wondering, Mark Barron, Courtney Upshaw, Donta Hightower and Whitney Mercilus had already been taken before this slot. Nick Perry and Andre Branch were still on the board.
