Gun-Jumping Premature Predictions: Figuring Out Davon House's Role

Davon House only played in two games for the Green Bay Packers as a rookie in 2011, but he's a player that fans and coaches are both expecting to make major strides with the benefit of a full offseason program. With more and more evidence mounting that Charles Woodson is going to play safety on 1st and 2nd downs instead of just situationally, House is going to, at worst, have an opportunity to win a nickel corner job in camp.

He should have stiff competition from rookie Casey Hayward for that spot, and there's always the possibility that Woodson's role could shift on 3rd downs with Charlie Peprah, Jerron McMillian or M.D. Jennings playing situationally, but there's still a place to be won by one of the cornerbacks.

Oh, and don't shoot the messenger, but Jarrett Bush did just sign a new contract.

It'll be a while before we have any idea of where House, Hayward and the safeties stand in the pecking order, but I'm wondering what you guys are expecting to see from House this season. Is he going to make a big jump, or is Hayward too good for House to get significant playing time?
