Early this morning, the Packers reported on their official Twitter feed that tight end Jermichael Finley would sit out practice today. The team did not provide further details, but more information is emerging. It turns out Finley will sit out for a few days as he recovers from a concussion. Packers head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed to reporters on Friday that Finley suffered a "mild" concussion and will be out "a couple days" as he recovers.

Finley's wife tweeted about the concussion and said it's protocol to sit out a few days. "He's going crazy because he feels amazing & wants to be out there with his team but he understands the precautionary measures." (Note: The tweet has since been deleted because teams don't like injury information out there.)

Concussions are especially concerning considering the emphasis the league has recently put on player health and safety. For now, this appears to be just a minor hiccup.
