Ummm......okay.......that was interesting?

After the first game against the Chargers I was disappointed. This game left me sick. It's only the preseason; it doesn't count; it's there for player evaluation....I get all that. However, it's tough to deny the fact that the Packers didn't look very good tonight.

Well let me correct that. The first team offense looked fine to me. One drive stalled and Randall Cobb gave up a fumble, but all in all I'm okay with that in the grand scheme of things. The first team defense did generally okay as well. They had terrible field position and held the Browns to a couple of field goals, so I'm good with that too. There is room to improve on that front, but I'm okay with where they are at.

The rest of the team.......ugh.

There is a lot to be unhappy with here. The backups on offense were flat out terrible. It doesn't matter if you are talking the line, the running back, the receivers (except maybe Cobb and Jarrett Boykin), or the quarterback. It was full team effort of awful. The second team defense looked soft. Not much pressure, not much energy, and not much pride put forward by those units.

There is some positive to build on here. Marshall Newhouse looked good. Alex Green had a decent carry or two. Jordy Nelson is awesome. D.J. Williams really needs to be our #2 TE. Charles Woodson still has it. The first team defense even seemed to get some good pressure against a very good Cleveland Brown offensive line.

I would say let's focus on that, but instead I'm going to say let your hate run wild. Keep it clean and appropriate, but other than just pile on the bile and we'll start with the positive thinking in the morning as we unpack what this loss means.
