SB Nation's weekly NFL power rankings are out, and SURPRISE, Joel Thorman of SBNation.com and Arrowhead Pride has dropped the Green Bay Packers. He had them as his No. 1 team heading into the season and they obviously had to move down a few slots after their mediocre performance on Sunday. However, he hasn't dropped them too far. They're currently ranked No. 5, which seems fair.
Here are SB Nation's NFL power rankings, with Joel's explanation for the Packers' position at No. 5:
OMG the Packers suck! No, no. The Packers are fine. One loss doesn't mean you blow anything up. Two losses could be a little more concerning. The Bears come to Green Bay on Thursday night.
When it's all said and done, I think the Packers will be a better team than the Houston Texans. As for the other three teams above the Packers, I feel like they're going to stay in those spots for a while.
The Chicago Bears moved up to No. 9, while the Detroit Lions managed to drop five spots with a win. That's what playing a poor game against St. Louis will do for you. The Minnesota Vikings are all the way down in 24th after their miracle comeback against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
How do you rank the Packers among NFL teams after the first week of games?
