If you haven't heard, the San Francisco 49ers are the greatest thing in the history of ever. They're 2-0, and they were in control of both of their games for the entire 60 minutes, against two good teams. Meanwhile, the New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens all lost last week. The Atlanta Falcons are 2-0, but they inexplicably let the Denver Broncos into last night's game because they could only turn four first quarter turnovers into 10 points.
That's why only two teams are ahead of the Green Bay Packers in SB Nation's latest NFL Power Rankings. Those teams are the aforementioned 49ers and the 2-0 Houston Texans, who also look great. A whopping four 2-0 teams are behind the Pack. Joel Thorman, who compiles the power rankings for SB Nation, is high on the Pack.
Get used to the top five, Green Bay. I imagine it won't be leaving here the rest of the year.
I'm going to agree with Joel, mostly because I think the 49ers are clearly the best team in the league, while the Bears are much better than they showed on Thursday night. Losing by one score to the top team in the league, then laying a convincing win on a decent 9-7 caliber team indicates that the Packers are one of the league's best, even if they aren't the league's best.
Following the Seahawks' convincing win over the Cowboys, the Packers are solidify their standing as a favorite to make the NFC Championship game if they pull off a two-score victory on the road in Seattle.
