NFL insiders can't seem to get on the same page today. The morning after suffering a gruesome injury to his head or neck, Jermichael Finley is in the hospital Monday morning. That is really the only consensus we can get right now from NFL reporters.
The first report this morning came from ESPN's Chris Mortensen, whose report from around 7:40 AM sounded bad:
Packers TE Jermichael Finley in ICU after his neck injury. He has not had surgery as of early this a.m. and status uncertain. Monitoring.

The wording of this update gives no clarity to the severity of Finley's injury. Certainly, stating that he spent time in Intensive Care makes it sound like Finley is seriously hurt and is in danger of not recovering fully. However, it is starting to sound like this is just poor wording or incomplete information on Mort's part, however; a few minutes later we got the following report from NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, which sounds far more promising:
#Packers TE Jermichael Finley spent the night at a hospital after suffering a neck injury. Source: "Precautionary. He's going to be fine"

That sounds much more like what we had hoped to hear about Finley. At this point, all our thoughts are going to the Finley family in the hopes that Jermichael will make a full recovery. Football should be the last thing on our minds this morning, as far as 88 is concerned - let's just hope he hasn't suffered any long-term damage.
We'll have more on this story as it continues to develop.
