Packers vs. Lions, Week 13 2013: Thanksgiving Day Game Thread #1

The Packers play the Lions in a holiday tradition. If your family is having dinner after the game, why not spend three hours with your APC buddies?

Gregory Shamus

Instead of the usual game thread introduction today, for the Green Bay Packers' game against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day I have decided to express the things I am thankful for as far as the Packers are related. In all the gloom of an injury-marred season, this seems like the perfect opportunity to reflect on how good we have it as Packers fans.

I am thankful for Aaron Rodgers, and that his collarbone fracture was not more serious.

I am thankful that I had an opportunity to buy a piece of my favorite team, to make my connection with the organization even stronger.

I am thankful that Jermichael Finley's injury earlier this season appears that it will not affect his quality of life moving forward, even if it does affect the remainder of his football career.

I am thankful for the opportunity to write about this team and for the APC community which makes it a rewarding and fun use of my time.

I am thankful for the fact that this team is a perennial playoff contender and that we are still somehow in the thick of the playoff hunt this year.

Finally, I am thankful for four Lombardi trophies and thirteen NFL championships.

Let us know what you are thankful for before kickoff, and let's get a lead in the NFC North, at least for a short time!
