It's Thursday around lunch time, which means that we have our weekly NFL picks to bring to you. This week there are a few tough games to predict, starting off with our Thursday Night opener between the Redskins and Vikings. The APC staff was split almost right down the middle on this one, with four out of seven picks going in favor of the visiting team from DC.
As for the Packers and Eagles on Sunday afternoon, that decision is split a bit as well. Five authors picked Green Bay to win, however, in a sign that many of us think that Seneca Wallace's play at quarterback will improve dramatically from his performance on Monday night against the Bears.
Personally, my selection of Green Bay as the winner is more due to the impending return of Nick Perry and Clay Matthews. Without the two of them, I don't think that the Packers would get enough pass rush on Nick Foles to slow down the Eagles' passing game, but having them on the field and causing problems for Philly's tackles is the deciding factor in my mind.
Let's get to the picks, and don't forget to make your selections in the APC Pick'Em contest over in the FanPost section!

MIA @ TB | TB | MIA | MIA | MIA | MIA | MIA | MIA | MIA |
Yes, you read that right, I am picking the Buccaneers to win a football game. That comes down to my confidence in Gerald McCoy wreaking havoc on whoever the Dolphins plug in for Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin on the left side of their offensive line.
As for other solitary picks, Dan is all by himself in picking the Panthers to upset the 49ers on the road, while Josh thinks the Raiders will do the same to the Giants. In unanimous selections, we have the Steelers, Bengals, Colts, Titans, Seahawks, Broncos, and Saints all winning - so you can probably bet that at least one of those teams will lose.
Here are the overall records, and as you can see, things are starting to bunch up. Only seven games now separate Eric in first from Tony and Tex in last place.
Author | Overall Record | Week 9 |
Eric | 89-44 | 7-6 |
Jason | 87-46 | 8-5 |

Dan | 84-49 | 8-5 |
Tony | 82-51 | 6-7 |
Tex | 82-51 | 8-5 |
