2013 NFL Free Agency: Greg Jennings "Has Destinations In Mind" And "Open To All Options"

Current free agent and former Green Bay Packers’ wide receiver Greg Jennings appeared on ESPN today to talk about his status and the free agent experience so far. I’m probably not alone thinking that Jennings’ appearance was an indication that he had an offer in hand and was going to make a big announcement on live TV. Reality was something a bit different though. Instead of stating a contract he mentioned that he "definitely has destinations in mind, but is just enjoying this opportunity as a free agent."

One of those common destinations has been with the Miami Dolphins in order to reunite Jennings with former Packers’ Offensive Coordinator Joe Philbin, but it appears that door is closed. The Dolphins have signed free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace to a new deal to the tune of five years $65 million with $40 million guaranteed. It is unlikely the Dolphins would sign two big name free agent deals for receivers.

There are still many places that Jennings could land. Right now it seems that Jennings does not want "to jump the gun" and is "open to all options." This fits with most of what he has talked about before. One of those options may just be with division rival the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings are in need of a receiver after trading away Percy Harvin to the Seattle Seahawks.

This could also mean something else entirely. As ESPN Milwaukee’s Jason Wilde mused….

Jennings is a fan favorite and I’m sure many would love to see him come back to Green Bay. It not entirely out of the realm of possibility if the market turns out to be softer than Jennings was expecting. Right now we will just have to sit back and see what happens.
