NFL free agency 2013: Tough market for Greg Jennings? Slot receivers 'getting screwed'

Is the market for Greg Jennings' services a bit thin?

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Pro Football Talk just had an interesting tweet about the market for slot receivers, referencing Danny Amendola. This might have some ramifications for Greg Jennings and the Green Bay Packers, and explains the grumblings we heard last night that 85 could return.

Jennings isn't a 'true' slot receiver, but he's fairly similar to Amendola and Wes Welker, who has the Patriots and Broncos in a reported bidding war, in that he is a starting wide receiver who can play on the outside, but regularly becomes a slot receiver when his team goes to three-plus wide receiver formations. If the market for Welker's services is just two teams and Amendola can't find a better offer than he's getting from the Rams, it wouldn't be surprising if similar circumstances applied to Jennings.
