NFL Draft Results: Packers Pick OLB Nate Palmer in Sixth Round

Where did Ted Thompson choose to go in round six?

The Packers were on the clock with the 193rd pick of the 2013 NFL Draft. With the 25th pick of the sixth round, Green Bay selected:

Nate Palmer, outside linebacker, Illinois State

Palmer is a small-school product from FCS school Illinois State. He is listed by at 6'3" and 240 pounds. According to Zach Kruse of, the Packers brought Palmer in for a meeting prior to the draft, and evidently they were pleased with what they saw. Palmer played defensive end in college, and likely will translate to outside linebacker in the Packers' 3-4 defense.
