As we all know, the Green Bay Packers have several key players entering a contract year. In all likelihood, they will not all be returning to the team in 2014, despite the team's relatively cap-friendly extensions for superstars Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews and the recent cut of veteran Desmond Bishop. With that in mind, our question for debate today is this:
Of the Packers set to enter free agency in 2014, which would you try to extend first?
There are several options, of course. Safety Morgan Burnett is the only veteran with more than one year's experience playing on the back end of the secondary. James Jones has become a highly productive and reliable receiver, and not bringing him back would require relying on unproven young wideouts. B.J. Raji's production has been up and down, but he still has the talent to be a top defensive lineman in the league. While many fans seem content to write Jermichael Finley off, when healthy and motivated he brings a dimension to the offense that no other players on the team can currently match.
Who am I missing? Would Ryan Pickett be a priority for you? What about Mike Neal? Let us know in the comments what you think and if we have forgotten about anyone.
