Welcome to Wednesday, a day when the Packers take the field for another morning practice in full pads. Today's news from around Green Bay and the NFL feature Percy Harvin's hip, the Packers' young corners looking good, a former Packer backup QB finally looking like he'll get a starting job, and one of the more ridiculous training camp injuries we'll see this year. Let's get to it!

Percy Harvin will have hip surgery, recovery timetable unknown - SBNation.com
Holy cow. Well, it's a good thing (for Seattle) that he's on the PUP list, so they can stash him there for at least the first six weeks of the season. That's a huge blow after the Seahawks gave up so much to get Harvin this offseason.

Injuries show Packers cornerback depth may be even greater than expected | Packersnews | packersnews.com
Micah Hyde looks really good early on. Even James Nixon is showing some serious talent. This is probably as stacked a CB group as you can find - now let's just get everybody healthy.

Number 9 is the biggest change: Coleman at backup QB instead of Graham Harrell.

Sam Shields ready to turn corner with Packers
"My goal is to get to the Pro Bowl, win the Super Bowl, just be that lockdown guy. Just covering them big guys, being able to stay on that one side and whoever comes to that side be able to guard him." Good aspirations, Sam, and that's how you get paid.

Matt Flynn solidifying role as quarterback of Oakland Raiders - ESPN
"Flynn has been the most impressive of the three quarterbacks so far in training camp with the most accurate arm, a good grasp of the offense and strong leadership on the field." Yay! Go Matt! I hoped he'd do well in Seattle last year, so I'm really hoping he wins the job this season.

My only beef is that I can see DuJuan Harris not making the roster at all. Otherwise, I think it's spot-on.

Packers 2013 Training Camp Depth Chart: Week 1 | AllGreenBayPackers.Com
Here's a good look at how the depth chart appears to lie so far through a few days of practice. This one is current, though, unlike the projected week 1 depth chart we gave you last week.

Sometimes headlines just write themselves. Here's your early leader for strangest injury of training camp.

There's your news of the day - as usual, stay tuned for our practice notebook later on today.
