Open thread for the Thursday night game between the New York Jets and New England Patriots

USA TODAY Sports

It is now time for the first Thursday Night Football game on NFL Network this season. Their slate starts with a divisional tilt between heated AFC East Rivals. The New York Jets head northeast to Massachusetts to take on the New England Patriots.

These teams haven't met since Thanksgiving night, 2012, when the Patriots went into New York and defeated the Jets 49-19. This was the contest which featured three Patriots touchdowns in 58 seconds, one of which came off the now-demoted Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez running into his offensive lineman's keister and dropping the ball.In week 7 last year at Gillette Stadium, the teams traded scores, with the Patriots finally eking out a 29-26 win in overtime.

The Jets haven't defeated the Patriots since the 2011 playoffs.
