With Jermichael Finley's career very much in doubt, and Andrew Quarless becoming a free agent after an average season in 2013, the Green Bay Packers may opt to completely revamp their tight end group. Brandon Bostick appears to have the highest ceiling in terms of potential as a receiver, but there are no guaranteed roster spots for anyone at the moment.
With talented tight ends like Jimmy Graham and Dennis Pitta potentially hitting the market and a draft class full of talented, big-bodied tight ends, the Packers may add a veteran free agent and an early draft selection to the 2014 roster.
Even if the Packers were to resign Andrew Quarless at a discount price, he still probably isn't the long-term answer as the No.1 option. If Jermichael Finley returns to action in 2014, nobody is very confident that it will be with the Green Bay Packers. Neck injuries are a dangerous thing, and can often cost players their careers (See Nick Collins). I would love nothing more than to see Finley wearing a Green and Gold 88 jersey and doing his wacky first down dance again, but I think it may be a long shot at this point in time.
Other than the safety position on defense, this might be the Packers' biggest area of need heading into the 2014 season.
