Panthers-Packers Inactives: Tramon Williams, Jamari Lattimore Will Start for Green Bay

New, comments

It turns out the Packers won't be without both of their starting cornerbacks after all this week.

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

Good news, everyone! The Green Bay Packers are only missing two starters on the defensive side of the ball this week. In Sunday's inactive list, cornerback Tramon Williams and inside linebacker Jamari Lattimore were not mentioned, meaning they'll be active and playing in today's game.

Here's the full list of the team's seven inactive players:

Packers Inactives

LB Carl Bradford
C Garth Gerhart
CB Demetri Goodson
WR Jeff Janis
DE Datone Jones
CB Sam Shields
QB Scott Tolzien

Jones and Shields were ruled out on Friday's injury report, at which time Williams and Lattimore were designated as questionable. Both of those players were active, and since they were not named in the Packers' press release discussing the starting lineup, it can safely be assumed that they will indeed start today's game.

Davon House will start for Sam Shields, which likely means that Casey Hayward will be the nickel back and will also probably rotate somewhat with Williams in the base defense. On the defensive line, Josh Boyd will be the starter in Jones' place, alongside nose tackle Letroy Guion and right end Mike Daniels.

For the Panthers, several key players are inactive. Here's their full report:

Panthers Inactives

CB Bene Benwikere
LB Chase Blackburn
CB Josh Norman
G Amini Silatolu
QB Joe Webb
RB Fozzy Whittaker
RB DeAngelo Williams

Oh hi, Joe Webb! But of more importance is that Benwikere and Norman will not play, meaning that the Panthers will roll out the trio of corners who have been burned badly in recent weeks. Not mentioned here are wideout Kelvin Benjamin and running back Jonathan Stewart, both of whom will be in the starting lineup today.

Keep it here for more gameday updates.
