Aaron Rodgers Earns NFC Offensive Player of the Week Honors for Week 7

New, comments

The Packers' QB was named the top offensive player in his conference for his week seven performance.

We all know how good Aaron Rodgers has been over the past few weeks, but the rest of the NFL is taking notice as well.

For the second time this year, Rodgers was named as the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week.

His 19-for-22 passing day ended with 255 yards and three touchdowns (for a passer rating of 154.5, just a bit below perfection), and he added three carries for 21 yards on the ground as well as the Packers defeated Carolina by a score of 38-17.

As noted in the tweet, this is the second such honor Rodgers earned this season - he was given the award after the Packers' 38-17 drubbing of the Chicago Bears, following his "R-E-L-A-X" comments on the radio. In that game, Rodgers threw for 302 yards and four scores.

Apparently the key is to win 38-17.

Here are the other games in which Rodgers' earned NFC Player of the Week honors:

Week 13, 2010: GB 34, SF 16
Rodgers: 21/30, 283 yds, 3 TDs, 0 INT, 4 carries for 39 yards

Week 16, 2010: GB 45, NYG 17
Rodgers: 25/37, 404 yds, 4 TDs, 0 INT, 2 carries for 26 yards

Week 1, 2011: GB 42, NO 34
Rodgers: 27/35, 312 yds, 3 TDs, 0 INT

Week 4, 2011: GB 49, DEN 23
Rodgers: 29/38, 408 yds, 4 TDs, 1 INT, 9 carries for 36 yards and 2 TDs

Week 9, 2011: GB 45, SD 38
Rodgers: 21/26, 247 yds, 4 TDs, 0 INT, 8 carries for 52 yards

Week 4, 2012: GB 28, NO 27
Rodgers: 31/41, 219 yds, 4 TDs, 1 INT

Week 6, 2012: GB 42, HOU 24
Rodgers: 24/37, 338 yds, 6 TDs, 0 INT

Since Rodgers has won the award each of the two previous times he has played against the New Orleans Saints, hopefully he will do so again this coming week and lead the Packers to a victory.
