Packers injury report: Burnett sidelined with unknown ailment

New, comments

Another injury hits the Green Bay secondary.

The Green Bay Packers' banged up secondary may have taken another hit as starting safety Morgan Burnett sat out of practice today with an undisclosed injury. Head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed the injuries during his Wednesday press conference.

Burnett is the latest defensive back to miss time, as both Sam Shields and Tramon Williams suffered lower body injuries two weeks ago in a win over the Miami Dolphins. Williams was held out of practice all of last week, but he was able to suit up against the Carolina Panthers. Meanwhile, Shields remains out with no definite timetable for a return.

Though cornerback Davon House has a dislocated finger, he was able to practice today. House, along with third-year corner Casey Hayward have played extensively in place of Shields and Williams during their absences.

The Packers full injury report is listed below:

  • S Morgan Burnett (unknown)
  • CB Sam Shields (patellar tendon)
  • RB James Starks (ankle)
  • DE Datone Jones (ankle)
