It's Friday of a game week, which means that the Green Bay Packers' weekly injury report is here. The big question marks before the report revolved around the Packers' starting guards, but as expected, those questions likely will not be answered until closer to game time.
Here's the report, and we'll discuss in more detail shortly.
Packers Injury Report
Probable
DE Datone Jones
QB Aaron Rodgers
CB Sam Shields
Questionable
S Morgan Burnett
G T.J. Lang
G Josh Sitton
Out
WR Kevin Dorsey
Seeing the four starters in the Probable category is certainly a pleasant bit of news - it appears that all four of them practiced fully all week and should be ready to go. Sam Shields will certainly be a key this Sunday against the Bears' big receivers, and Burnett and Jones should have an impact on the run defense.
Obviously, Rodgers' impact does not need to be addressed.
Lang and Sitton have not practiced yet this week, but the team has another practice on Saturday so they will likely need to do at least some work tomorrow if they can be expected to play. Still, Mike McCarthy said on Thursday that he would be comfortable with the veterans playing even if they did not practice all week.
Dorsey's injury is more serious - apparently the young wideout will be out multiple weeks. As our Jason Hirschhorn suggested, it still seems possible that the team could place him on Injured Reserve and bring up another offensive lineman if the coaches feel that they need more security on the line due to the guards' injuries.
UPDATE: Morgan Burnett was originally listed as Probable on Friday's report, but was downgraded to Questionable after Saturday's practice.
Bears Injury Report
Probable
LB Jon Bostic
LB Lance Briggs
CB Kyle Fuller
S Danny McCray
T Jordan Mills
Questionable
TE Martellus Bennett
Out
G Eben Britton
LB Darryl Sharpton
G Matt Slauson
As for the Bears, they'll be missing one starter (Slauson), who has been out for several weeks. Bennett has an issue with his ribs that caused him to miss Friday's practice, but he was quoted as saying that he would probably playSunday night. Britton has been a key swing guard, seeing action in six games, and has occasionally lined up as a sixth offensive lineman in the Bears' heavy formations.
