As the Green Bay Packers gear up for their Week 15 tilt with the Buffalo Bills, they may need to start seriously considering the possibility of playing without their top running back.
According to the team, Eddie Lacy (hip) was limited in practice today, participating only in individual drills and no 11-on-11 work. Lacy suffered the injury near the end of Monday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
"I feel better than I did at the end of that game," said Lacy to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "I'm progressing and trying to see where I am by game time."
Lacy enters the week with 843 yards rushing, just 157 shy of his second consecutive 1,000-yard season. To reach that milestone, the reigning Offensive Player of the Year needs to average just over 52 yards per game from this point on. That of course assumes he plays this Sunday.
If Lacy's hip prevents him from suiting up, James Starks would be in line for additional carries. Last week, Starks ran the ball 10 times for 75 yards including a game-clinching 41 yarder late in the fourth quarter.
