Welcome to Friday, everyone! Personally, this has been a really long week so I'm glad the weekend is finally almost here. Since it's the first weekend without football in about six months, Sundays are free again, so maybe it's time to clean up the house. More realistically, I'll probably just sit on the couch and watch the Olympics all day. (Sadly, curling doesn't start until Monday.)

But before we get to the weekend, there's one more day to push through, so let us help you do just that with a little Packers news. We've got stories on tight end Jermichael Finley and his impending free agency, accusations of a Packers safety trash-talking (LOL) and more. Enjoy!

Morgan Burnett of Green Bay Packers denies trash talking Tony Gonzalez - ESPN
This is a screwy story. From what little I do know about Burnett as a person, it seems out of character for him to insult Gonzalez, and the defense's poor play (which was partially due to the play of the safeties) would have done little to back it up anyway.

Packers tap familiar pipeline at Iowa - JSOnline
Could tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz be next? It certainly would make sense given the Packers' recent drafts.

Murphy defends ticket increase, says Thompson has his 'full support' | Packersnews
Surprised? I'm sure this won't quiet the "FIRW TIGHTWAD TED" crowd, but he's not going anywhere.

Jermichael Finley Rumors: Giants' Rolle recruiting free-agent tight end - Big Blue View
This is an interesting development. It makes sense, though, as the Giants need a tight end and their new offensive coordinator (Ben McAdoo) was Finley's position coach in Green Bay a few years back.

Agent: Jermichael Finley Would "Love" to Finish Career in Green Bay | Cheesehead TV
Hmm. Agent says he'd "love" to say in Green Bay, but Finley would "go running" if the Giants called. Both of those things can be true at the same time, but perhaps one is simply agent-speak.

UW's Hammock joins Ravens before Packers can act - ESPN Wisconsin
This is a rather disappointing development. Thomas Hammock did wonders with the running backs for the Badgers, and the Packers wisely had him as their top target for their vacant running backs coaching job.

Kiper: Johnny Manziel is the NFL's consensus No. 1 QB - SBNation.com
Hey teams drafting QBs in the first round this year: have fun with that.
