Happy Tuesday, Green Bay Packers fans. The doldrums of the NFL off-season are officially here, and big-time news (at least coming out of Green Bay) is tough to find. Still, we have some bits and pieces for you today, among them discussions about Packers' free agents of all kinds - new Packers, old Packers who have departed, and other old Packers who still don't have a team yet. We even were reminded of one name who we think would make a great Packer under the right circumstances.
Click, discuss, and come on back for more football discussion throughout the day.
Notebook: Kuhn, Packers remain in talks | Packersnews
It's no surprise that the Packers have been talking with John Kuhn's agent often over the past few weeks. I still expect that he'll be back in Green Bay for 2014.
What team has taken the lead for the Super Bowl? | Packers.com
Vic would take C.J. Mosley ahead of either Ha Ha Clinton-Dix or Calvin Pryor. I can't say I disagree.
C.J. Wilson leaves Packers for Raiders | ESPN Wisconsin
This flew under the radar a bit over the weekend. The former Packers defensive end is following wide receiver James Jones to Oakland.
Where will Nick Perry play this season? - ESPN
The question refers to whether Nick Perry will primarily rush from the right or left side, but the answer will depend on how much the Packers intend to use the "Elephant" position.
Betting on Julius Peppers' production - ESPN
The over/under on sacks for Peppers in 2014 is nine. I'd take the under, but not because I don't think he'll be effective; on the contrary, I think his presence will allow other players to get to the quarterback more often.
Raiders add another former 49ers cornerback in Carlos Rogers - Silver And Black Pride
There's a pipeline forming here. Maybe Rogers and Tarell Brown just didn't want to move away from the Bay Area.
Top 5 NFL free agents remaining: DeSean Jackson likely to sign soon, but others still available - SBNation.com
The SB Nation staff slots Jermichael Finley in at 3rd place on this list. Also out there is Champ Bailey, who would make a very appealing option at safety if he would sign for the veteran minimum. (Plus he was released by Denver so he wouldn't count against the compensatory picks!)
