Packers Opening 2014 Win Total and NFC North Odds

Bovada has set the Packers' opening 2014 win total and placed them as favorites to win the NFC North.

Whether or not you wager on sports, the opening season win totals and divisional odds are a big deal for accessing the upcoming season. Las Vegas isn't perfect, but its betting lines have proven a valuable resource for preseason prognostication.

So for fans of the green and gold it comes as good news that Bovada has set the Packers' opening 2014 regular season win total at 10.5 and installed them as 4/5 favorites to win the NFC North.

For context, Bovada opened both the Bears and Lions at 8.5 wins while the Vikings trail the division at 6. Similarly, Chicago is the closest to Green Bay in divisional odds (11/4) followed by the Lions (17/4) and Vikings (12/1).

One factor these odds fail to account for is injury. While no team goes through a season unscathed, no NFC North franchise has endured more losses to injury than the Packers. Should they experience another harrowing campaign like 2013, it's not difficult to see one of the other teams displacing them atop the division.

But that's merely conjecture at this point. Right now, the Packers are healthy and the favorites to win the NFC North.
