Announced by the team's official twitter account this evening, the Green Bay Packers have assigned their 2014 first-round draft pick a jersey number:
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix will wear No. 21.
— Green Bay Packers (@packers) May 9, 2014
Of course, the last Packer to wear 21 was Charles Woodson, who played in Green Bay from 2006 through 2012. Woodson, a talented defensive back himself, rejuvenated his career with the Packers in between stints with the Oakland Raiders.
During the team's glory years in the 1960s, number 21 was worn by cornerback Bob Jeter.
Other Packers who wore number 21 in the past few decades include Bhawoh Jue and Craig Newsome.
The Packers will likely have Clinton-Dix number #21 jerseys available in the Packers Pro Shop in the next few days. At this point, they are not yet available for sale.
We'll have more on Clinton-Dix's selection and we'll look towards rounds 2 and 3 as tonight rolls along.
