Jonathan Daniel

First of all, I want to say a big thank you to 92 readers who submitted entries into our 2014 NFL Draft contest. I am pleased to announce the winners of the Lambeau Field blueprint from Ballpark Blueprints:

First Place

NVBrewersFan (31 points)

Second Place

AlMaFi (30 points)

Third Place

Rob (29 points)

Rob actually tied with lsucain with 29 points, but Rob won on the tiebreaker question - his guess that the first round would last for 3 hours and 43 minutes was within 5 minutes of the actual time I recorded at 3:39.

The big winner, NVBrewersFan, cleaned up in the first seven picks. The only error he made was not projecting the Bills' trade up to the fourth pick; otherwise, he nailed the other six teams and all seven players who were selected in the correct order.

Trends

There were some interesting trends that came out of this prediction. Of the 92 picks made for the 21st overall selection, only five projected the Packers to trade out of the pick, leaving 87 who thought that they would draft at 21. The following players earned predictions as the Packers' pick:

C.J. Mosley: 39
Ryan Shazier: 26
Eric Ebron: 4
Calvin Pryor: 4
Kyle Fuller: 3
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix: 2
Anthony Barr: 2

1 pick each: Darqueze Dennard, Louis Nix, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Ra'Shede Hageman, Bradley Roby, Kyle Van Noy, Deone Bucannon

That's right, only two of 87 entries correctly predicted the Packers' selection.

As for some other oddities, there was only one numbered pick which none of the entries predicted correctly: that was Ryan Shazier going with the 15th selection (by the Pittsburgh Steelers). Otherwise, every other pick in the top 21 had at least one person guessing it correctly.

Brandin Cooks was picked correctly at #20 by only one entry, and two people predicted each of the Dolphins' surprising pick of tackle Ju'Wuan James at 19, the Bears picking Kyle Fuller 14th, and the Packers' selection of Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

Thanks to all who participated, and congratulations to the winners! Remember that you can get your own copy of the drawing by checking out Ballpark Blueprints' website here. Make sure to use the promo code GOPACK for a discount off your order!
